What password do I use and how to change it?
All the machines use your Admitto password for authentication. Some machines are locked down so only members of certain research groups can access them. If this is the case you will get an error message saying 'only members of group whatever may log in' if you are not in the appropriate group.
You can change your Admitto password from a web browser at https://apps.ch.cam.ac.uk/ssms/changepassword.
How do you install software?
Software on Managed Windows Workstations is managed through WPKG. You can select software to install at https://apps.ch.cam.ac.uk/wpkg/. The software should then get installed when you shut your workstation down.
We have a large list of software available by WPKG. If there is something you can't find, contact us.
Where can I store my files?
Data on windows workstations is not automatically backed up. Many groups use a fileserver to store critical data. If you're in doubt about how/where you should be storing your data, you may want to consult your group computer rep.
How do you read email?
Exchange Online
To use Exchange Online webmail, go to https://www.outlook.office.com/ and log in with your Raven credentials.
