The newly established Junior PIs Network came up with a novel idea for a networking event: a Poker Night. The researchers got together in mid-February for some food and a game of chance. As it turned out, Lady Luck was definitely on Alex Thom's side that night, as he was the one who took home the pot of £40 and two fume cupboards...
Would you like to join the Junior PIs Network? Despite the name, this club has a decidedly inclusive membership. "It ranges from those who have just started a research group, to those who have been running a group for many, many years," Jenny Zhang explains. "They just have to be young at heart."
The group went on to hold a board games night on 2nd March in the Salisbury Arms. But they also meet for regular lunches to include those who cannot make evening events.
