Professor Shankar Balasumbramanian has been awarded with an honorary doctorate by the University of Liverpool.
Professor Balasubramanian is the Herchel Smith Professor of Medicinal Chemistry, and has been a fellow of Trinity College since 1994. He co-founded the biotech company Solexa, to develop and commercialize genome sequencing technology. As well as directing a research group in the Department of Chemistry, he is a Senior Group Leader at the CRUK Cambridge Institute at the Addenbrookes Biomedical Campus.
