The group had a busy day on Wednesday starting with an intriguing seminar by Fabian Berger, followed by a group lunch with the Cox group to get to know our new group members, and later with an insightful game of 2 lies and 1 truth. Someone from the group met Boris Johnson at the airport! The ICE group is happy to welcome the new additions to the group:
- Domantas Kuryla, who is a SynTech CDT PhD student co-supervised by Gábor Csányi that will work on modelling organic reactions in solution using the latest state-of-the-art machine learning potentials.
- IniOluwa Afolabi, who is a MPhil student that will work on finding the next generation carbon dioxide storage materials on decorated graphene.
- Xavier Rosas Advincula, who is a PhD student that will work on studying the phase transitions of nano-confined water systems with Quantum Monte Carlo and machine learning potentials.
- Eszter Varga-Umbrich, who is a SynTech PhD student co-supervised by Gábor Csányi that will work on modeling clay materials using the latest state-of-the-art machine learning potentials
Welcome and have an ice time!
