Congratulations to Patrick, who finished his PhD viva on Thursday! We celebrated the occasion with a (virtual) group lunch today and we hope to have an in-person celebration as well once it is safe to do so. Patrick's PhD involved the development of highly accurate yet computational cheap interatomic potentials based on machine learning of quantum mechanical DFT simulations. Best of luck with his postdoc at Gabor Csanyi's group in the Engineering department!
