Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry

Cricketers from Chemistry and Cambridge Assessment joined forces this year and played eight matches – in what was probably the inter-departmental league's best ever spell of good weather!

Organiser Matthew Dunstan says: "Due to a lower numbers of players in the department this year, the Chemistry Cricket team joined forces with Cambridge Assessment to form a combined team for the annual inter-departmental league. We were grateful for their support, and were able to field a team for all eight matches. They were  completed in what is probably the best spell of good weather even seen for the league!"

He adds: "We managed to win two matches against the Genome Campus and Cambridge University Press teams, and we secured a draw against the Engineering team, to finish the season with a 2-1-5 record.

"This is a solid improvement from last season, and gives the team something to build on for next year."

  • As always, if anyone is interested in playing and would like to be on the mailing list for next season, please email Matthew Dunstan: mtd33@cam.ac.uk.

The sunshine wasn't bad last year either (!), as the picture above of the 2017 team shows:
