"The McBain Medal is awarded annually by the Society of Chemical Industry and is awarded to honour a younger scientist who has made a meritorious contribution to colloid and interface science – expanding beyond the traditional boundaries of the field to include those applying colloid and interface science in areas such as physics, engineering and biological, medical, formulation, polymer, 'nano' and 'soft matter' science. It is named after James William McBain. To be eligible, the candidate should be in the earlier stages of their scientific career, typically within 15 years of attaining their doctorate (or equivalent degree), and will have advanced the science or technology of the field in a significant way."  ©The Society of Chemistical Industry.

The Department of Chemistry is also delighted to announce that Oren has been appointed the next Director of the Melville Laboratory for Polymer Synthesis too.
