The Chemistry and Physics Cricket Teams - in their element

It's official: Chemistry tops Physics -- in cricket, that is.

Both the Chemistry and Physics cricket teams had their ion the prize in the 40-over match, but Chemistry acted like protons and stayed positive.

The match was held at Hills Road on a glorious day in August with temperatures hovering in the mid-20s. Both teams were in their element, but Chemistry were up and atom, winning by 70 runs.

“Everyone enjoyed themselves massively,” says PhD student Fergal Hanna, Chemistry’s captain. In fact, the occasion was so enjoyable that plans are now afoot to buy a trophy and make the match a periodic fixture.
