Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry

 

Tuomas Knowles has been awarded the 2014 British Biophysical Society Young Investigator Medal and Award, and the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics Young Scientist Prize for Biological Physics.

The BBS medal is awarded every two years for an outstanding contribution in any area of biophysics to those within 10 years of completion of their PhD. The winner receives a medal, a cheque for £1000, and is invited to present a lecture at a BBS meeting.


The IUPAP Young Scientist Prize for Biological Physics is awarded annually in recognition of exceptional achievements in the field of Biological Physics. The Young Scientist Medal is presented at the IUPAP International Conference of Biological Physics, and the winner is invited to give an oral presentation at the conference.
