Research Associate

Current Work

I am a new postdoc in Prof Alex Archibald's group in the Centre for Atmospheric Science. I will be working with work-package leader Dr Luke Abraham and PhD student Zainab Hakim on the NERC-funded REVEAL-NOx project, which aims to better quantify the climate effects of aviation NOx emissions.

Previous Career

I worked for many years in automotive electronics as a software engineer, in diverse projects covering electric powertrain, combustion engine and pollution controls, autonomous vehicles, and also software tools. As technical leader I present the final video of the UKRI-funded MuCCA autonomous vehicle consortium project here

I have also been involved in machine learning competitions on public platforms, and other coding projects including an early educational molecular dynamics project. I have a GitHub area here.

PhD

I did my PhD here in Cambridge under Prof Sir David King, concerning the measurement and modelling of heats of adsorption and reaction on single-crystal metal surfaces. My thesis is available here. If you have sharp eyes, you might spot me in the 1991 and 1992 departmental photos on the SW staircase wall...
