Professor Matt Gaunt has won the Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award and the ACS Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award.

The Royal Society of Chemistry Wolfson Merit Research Award is jointly funded by the Wolfson Foundation and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). The scheme aims to provide universities with additional support to enable them to attract science talent from overseas and retain respected UK scientists of outstanding achievement and potential. Matt Gaunt has received the award for his work on the Catalytic C-H bond activation of aliphatic amines. 


Matt has also been awarded with the the American Chemistry Society (ACS) Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award, sponsored by Arthur C. Cope Fund. The award recognizes and encourages excellence in organic chemistry. The Awards Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, in conjunction with the 251st ACS National Meeting in San Diego, CA.
