Research Fellow
Biography
Dr Chen Han is currently a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow (since 2025) in Prof. Erwin Reisner’s group at the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge.
She obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Rose Amal and Prof. Xiaojing Hao. She received a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in 2019 and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology from China University of Petroleum (East China) (UPC) in 2016.
Her research focuses on integrating interdisciplinary technologies for sustainable, solar-driven chemical conversion and synthesis, utilizing CO₂ emissions, pollutants, and wastes to advance the circular economy. She is also an expert in developing advanced in situ/operando characterization techniques for mechanistic understanding and in process engineering for scale-up toward practical applications. She has published more than 29 peer-reviewed journal articles and has an h-index of 20.
