All chemists working in the energy area in the early stages of their careers are invited to attend the Royal Society of Chemistry Early Career Energy Sector Chemists Symposium in London on 2 December 2015.

Jonathan Radcliffe (University of Birmingham) will give the keynote presentation on "Challenges in the Energy Industry".  Nina Skorupska, the Chief Executive of The Renewable Energy Association, is set to give a 'career-inspiring presentation,' alongside an RSC careers presentation and a careers panel question & answer session.

Early career researchers from academia and industry have been invited to submit abstracts, and the best of these will be invited to give a short 'elevator pitch' presentation of their posters at the Symposium.  Prizes will be awarded for the best presentations/posters, and last year's event winner, Jo Humphrey (Bristol University) will also speak.

The event is open to all early career chemists, regardless of age.  The event is free to attend, although you are requested to register by 30 November.  There are a limited number of travel and subsistence bursaries available, which can be applied for by early career RSC members.

The event will be held at The Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House, London on 2 December from 10 - 4.

For more information please email Paul Brack at P.Brack@lboro.ac.uk.

Representatives from the RSC Careers Service will be present at the event:  please email careers@rsc.org if you would like to book a one-to-one consultation during the event.
