We have extended the application deadline for a three-year Herchel Smith Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Organic or Biological Chemistry to 31 December 2023.
This Fellowship, which starts October 2024, gives a highly motivated scholar the opportunity to focus exclusively on research at an early stage in their career. Fellows work in an established research group here, but are expected to exhibit a significant degree of independence.
Qualifications
The role has certain requirements, which include:
• PhD or equivalent within the last three years at any university excluding Cambridge and Harvard.
• Less than three years of postdoctoral experience when the Fellowship is taken up (with allowance for career breaks).
• A high quality and original research proposal.
• Evidence of outstanding academic excellence, and potential as an independent researcher.
Remuneration
As well as a stipend on the University’s postdoctoral research associate scale, there is a research allowance of up to £15,000 per annum, which can be used for laboratory consumables, travel, or hiring a summer intern.
