We are sorry to announce the death of David Watson, who was a member of the department for 47 years.
David's final position was Department Secretary, the senior departmental administrator. "It was a role he fulfilled with great skill and distinction," said Head of Department Professor James Keeler.
"David was a great source of wisdom and strength during my first 40 years in the department," said Emeritus Professor and former Head of Department Jeremy Sanders. "During 2000-2005 he masterminded and project-managed our major refurbishment, transforming the building while keeping teaching and researching going throughout that time. David was such a towering figure in the life of the department for almost 50 years that many will remember him."
The funeral will be held on 30 October 2024 at Great Chesterford Cam Valley Crematorium.
