Srijit Seal, third year PhD student studying drug toxicity in the Andreas Bender group and former President of the Graduate Student Body at Clare Hall, has won the Best College Officer Award.
Srijit is the first Clare Hall student to receive this award, which was given at the Cambridge University Student Union’s Student awards ceremony in June. The award recognises Srijit’s outstanding contributions and unwavering commitment to serving his community and his work’s impact on Clare Hall for the past two years. The award goes on to say that Srijit's determination, organisation and his infectious enthusiasm are all part of what makes him an outstanding college representative.
Srijit is not just an active member of his college community but also the Department of Chemistry, where he was elected one of the department’s postgrad representatives in 2022. In this role, Srijit organises department-based events for students and promotes diversity at these events to best represent his peers in more formal spaces.
