General

Why Chemical Reactions Happen

At present I divide my time equally between the Department and Selwyn College, where I am the Senior Tutor. In the Department my main role is as the Director of Teaching, having overall responsibility for the delivery of the undergraduate chemistry course.

Understanding NMR Spectroscopy

My research interests have been in the area of high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, particularly in the development and application of new techniques. Some of our publications and associated software is available on the group web server. Please note that at present I am not recruiting any post doctoral workers, PhD students or summer visitors.

I have recently authored three text books, two on general chemistry and one on NMR.
