Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry

I am a PhD student working with Prof. Dominic Wright on main-group inorganic macrocycles and the utilisation of inorganic rings as supramolecular building blocks. I previously completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge, carrying out my Part III (Master’s) project in the Wright group.

In my current research, other than supramolecular systems based on p-block elements, I am also exploring the isolation of their reactive s-block organometallic precursors. Our recent work on such lithium and heterobimetallic lithium‒magnesium complexes was featured on the front cover of Volume 267 of Polyhedron.
