Following the great success of the Peer-to-Peer mentoring event held earlier this term, a similar event was held for the graduate students to meet their academic mentors and tutors on 24 November.

The turnout this year was the highest yet for both academics and students with around 170 people participating.  All present seemed to enjoyed the social interaction and opportunity to meet their mentors in an informal setting.

This event was part of the department's mentoring system for graduate students so that they feel supported throughout their studies, this support includes peer-to-peer, academic, departmental and postdoc mentors as well as the ability to contact support outside the department.

The Graduate Education team are working hard to make sure our graduates not only have a top notch education but really feel a part of the Department of Chemistry community.  Congratulations must also go the Graduate Social and Networking Committee who hosted this annual event.
