The Mature Student Society is a group for mature students and others in the University to meet and socialise. They’ve hosted plenty of meetups this year, including lunches at the Colleges followed by a tour and weekly evening pub events.
The society was started last year to connect mature students, as well as college and University students staff, looking for social opportunities and support.
Barbara Toninato, one of our Research Grants Clerks and member of the Society, comments that: “As I studied Art History at ARU, one of the highlights for me was a guided tour of Churchill College's amazing modern art collection, which includes original works by Winston Churchill, Eduardo Paolozzi, and Andy Warhol.”
Join in
If you are interested in joining the Mature Student Society they have some great events planned for this summer such as a trip to Bletchley Park, a May Ball visit and an Evensong WhatsApp Group.
Barbara adds: “I’d definitely encourage anyone who’s curious to come along and see what we’re all about! You don’t need to be a student, we welcome everyone.”
