COVID-19 tests are now available to all University of Cambridge, college staff and students in Cambridge with Covid symptoms -- and to members of their households.
If you or a member of your household develops a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, please arrange to be tested.
Getting a test
Call Addenbrooke's Hospital Occupational Health on 01223 216767 Monday through Friday. If you develop symptoms outside of those hours, you can still arrange a test using the regular NHS site.
Testing locations and hours
- Testing pods at Addenbrooke's Hospital are open Monday - Thursday from 8:30 - 5pm, and Friday from 8:30 - 1pm. They are accessible by car or bike while wearing a mask. If you are already on the Biomedical campus, you can access the pods on foot while wearing a mask.
- The Dyson Building, Department of Engineering (Fen Causeway entrance) is open Monday - Thursday from 8:30 to 2:45pm. It is accessible by car, bike or foot (you must wear a mask if arriving on bike or on foot).
Test results
- If your test is positive, you will be called on the same day as the test is taken by the Infectious Diseases team from Addenbrooke's Hospital.
- If your test is negative, you will receive an email or text message from Addenbrooke's Hospital Occupational Health within 48 hours of the test.
What else should I do?
- Please inform your line manager immediately.
- Continue to self-isolate until you receive your test results.
- Don't come into the Department until given the 'all-clear' by your line manager, to avoid the risk of infecting others and possible closure of the building.
