Dr Richard Parker

Dr Richard M. Parker graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southampton in 2011 under the supervision of Dr Martin Grossel and Prof Peter Smith. In collaboration with the Optoelectronics Research Centre, his Ph.D. studies focused on interfacing an integrated Bragg grating refractometer with supramolecular chemistry and microfluidics to develop highly-sensitive, chemically-specific sensors.

Richard is currently a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Cambridge, where he exploits self-assembly within microfluidically-templated droplets to prepare novel material architectures; with interests ranging from supramolecular microcapsules and gels, to bio-inspired photonic microparticles and structurally-coloured films.
