From 1963 - 1988 Dr Prince was University Lecturer in Organic and Inorganic Chemistry. His research focused on kinetics and the mechanism of reactions of metal complexes, and coordination chemistry of metals and metalloenzymes. Dr Prince was also a Tutor at St John’s College from 1963 to 1970, and in 1990 he received the degree of ScD (Doctor of Science).

Born in Newport, Monmouthshire, Dr Prince was awarded a BSc and a PhD from University College London, and he came to Cambridge in 1956 to further pursue his academic career at Sidney Sussex College. He was elected into the Fellowship at St John’s in 1960, also holding the positions of Director of Studies in Chemistry until 1986 and Lecturer until 1988.
