The department will host the next Cambridge New Therapeutics Forum on Thursday 2 February.

The Cambridge New Therapeutics Forum is a scientific forum open to all scientists interested in research and development of new therapeutics in Cambridge and the local area, including scientists at the University, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, pharmaceutical companies, biotechs, CROs, and not-for-profit organisations.

Its purpose is to promote interactions between these organisations to improve opportunities for biotechnology research and development.  These early evening meetings are open to all scientists and rotate around different organisations located in the Cambridge biotech cluster.

The programme, which includes two department researchers, is as follows:

  • Translating genetic principles and basic cell biology into new Medicines, Steve Jackson, Frederick James Quick Professor of Biology, The Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge
  • Using random matrix theory to predict protein-ligand binding and identify pharmacophores in the search for novel therapeutics, Dr Lucy Colwell, Centre for Molecular Informatics, University of Cambridge
  • Multidimensional super-resolution spectroscopy at the nanoscale, Dr. Steven F. Lee, Royal Society University Research Fellow, University of Cambridge

After the presentations a reception will be held to stimulate further interactions.

Attendance is free but all attendees must register in advance.  Early registration is recommended.
