The Centre for Molecular Informatics in the Department of Chemistry will host a Data in Drug Discovery symposium on 23 September in the Unilever Lecture Theatre.

The final programme covers areas such as using genomics, proteomics and image-based readouts for characterizing and understanding biology; modelling compound properties; and utilizing these and other types of data in discovery in a pharmaceutical setting.  


Dr Andreas Bender, whose research in the Department is focused on the prediction of molecules, will open the conference, which will also feature speakers from the Department of Physiology, the Sanger Institutue, the Genome Analysis Centre and Institute of Food Research, and genomic, drug discovery and pharmaceutical companies such as Optibrium, OcellO, Evotec, Eagle Genomicsand GlaxoSmithKline.
