The Department has a diverse mix of over 220 researchers: some employed directly by the University, some working in the Department on daily basis but funded directly by sponsors, fellowships or other means and some visiting the Departmenet less frequently.

This handbook intends to bring together information relevant to all contract research staff, all of whom play an important and valuable role in the Department’s world leading research. If you are unsure of any information, please ask your PI, supervisor, line manager or a member of the personnel administration office.

It is our policy to communicate regularly with staff, students and visitors on matters of importance, such as changes to employment legislation, rules and regulations, or information relating to University or Departmental policy and procedure, and to promote the many training opportunities that are available throughout the year.

This information is, to the best of our knowledge, up to date. You are also advised to check the University HR webpages for the most up-to-date information and there are further online resources on the University Staff Guide webpages.
