Greetings! I'm Lan Nan (she/her). Welcome to my corner!
Born and raised in China, my academic journey began with undergraduate studies split between the University of Nottingham's Ningbo campus and its UK campus, where I completed my bachelor's degree in Chemistry. I then moved to Cambridge for my Master's in Jenny's research group. Here, I focused on thylakoid membranes extracted from cyanobacteria, using organic dyes to enhance their light utilization efficiency. Currently, I'm expanding this work to improve light utilization in biological organisms from a broader perspective. My research now employs whole cells as a platform, tackling challenges from both biological and engineering angles. Specifically, I'm working on improving the contact and design of light antennae, photosensitizers, and electrodes in biohybrid systems.
