SynTech Centre for Doctoral Training

When is the deadline to apply?

The deadline for 2020 applications is on Tuesday 3rd December 2019.  Due to the short desired time-frame between application submission and interviewing our prospective applicants, please ensure that your referees are aware that this is the deadline and that they also provide their references by this deadline.

What qualifications do I need?

Suitable applicants will normally have an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a strong theoretical background with emphasis on AI and machine learning or related disciplines and Masters (Pass).

Am I eligible to apply?

Studentships will be 4 years in duration, and will provide a maintenance grant and tuition fees at the UK/EU rate. Studentships are available to UK and EU students who meet the UK residency requirements of the Research Councils. Students from EU countries who do not meet the residency requirements may be eligible for a fees-only award. Owing to funding restrictions imposed by the sponsor, overseas students would need to apply by the University Scholarship deadline, which is in December of the year directly preceding October entry to the course.

What do I need to apply?

You will need a 2-page CV, motivation letter supporting a PhD in these research areas, relevant transcripts from undergraduate degree and the contact information for two academic referees.

Who do I send my application to?

For questions related to the formal application procedure and other general admissions queries, please contact syntech-CDT@ch.cam.ac.uk.

If you have not made an application for another PhD course in Cambridge via the course directory system, please go to "Automated Chemical Synthesis Enabled by Digital Molecular Technologies (EPSRC CDT)", then click the Apply Now button in the How to Apply tab.

Please ensure that all references are uploaded to the application form before the deadline, otherwise your application may not be considered.
