Next Generation: Lectureships

Dr Peter Wothers gives an explosive lecture at the annual Chemistry Open Day.

Lecturers at Cambridge are established researchers who are responsible for guiding, training and scrutinising research output, as well as sharing their knowledge through teaching.

New lectureship positions will allow the most talented researchers to progress to the next stage in their career, encouraging them to pursue their research in Cambridge.  As lecturers they in turn lead their own research groups of early-career research Fellows, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students.

We want talented researchers to stay at Cambridge and pursue their brilliant ideas here; Next Generation Lectureships allow us to do that.

  • A gift of £1million will fund a Next Generation Lectureship for 10 years

  • A gift of £2.15 million will endow a Lectureship permanently

  • Next Generation Lectureships may be named after their benefactors.
