Next Generation Fellow Dr Alex Forse has used the funding to support his research on electrochemical carbon dioxide capture to develop materials that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and tackle the global climate crisis.

Next Generation Fellowships support early-career Research Fellows and Lecturers with start-up grants during the crucial first years of their posts, giving them time to build up their own research groups and profiles so that they can successfully attract research grants.

Next Generation Fellowship benefactors have the privilege and satisfaction of playing an important role in launching a young scientist's career, giving them the support to discover the next potential breakthrough.

We were delighted to welcome five highly regarded and energetic researchers to our academic staff in 2023 and your support could help kickstart their research.

A Next Generation Fellowship would provide a newly recruited researcher with unrestricted research funding of up to £50,000 per year for up to five years.
