Sorption in Porous Media

My research is focused on theoretical study of non-equilibrium phenomena in complex systems such as porous materials.

Porous materials are widely used in catalysis. Capillary condensation of various gases is used for  structural characterisation of porous materials in terms of porosity, internal surface area and distribution of the pore sizes.

I study mechanisms of capillary condensation and related physical phenomena such as hysteresis, avalanches and continuous/discontinuous phase transitions.
