Synthesis of Conjugated Polymers for Plastic Electronics

Research in our group is centred on organic synthesis of conjugated polymers and small molecules that can absorb or emit light.

We aim to design and synthesize new organic materials that can be used in next generation organic electronics such as flexible solar cells, light emitting diodes and lasers. We work closely with physicists to understand the underlying photophysical processes in our materials and test them as a new generation of plastic electronics.

In this presentation I will outline our research ethos, providing examples of ongoing research activities.
