Research Assistant - Battery Degradation Cell Testing (Fixed Term)

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.

Applications are invited for a research assistant positions to work with Professor Clare Grey on battery degradation and cell construction/testing. The work will include the preparation and characterization (e.g., via electrochemistry and diffraction) of battery material and full and half cells.

Applicants should have a Masters degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Material Science. Experience in battery characterisation, solid-state synthesis including working in glove boxes, sintering techniques, structural and microstructural analysis (metallography, XRD, SEM, others), characterisation of thermal and electrical properties, thermal analysis, and/or experience in solid-state NMR spectroscopy, and the application of this methodology to problems in solid-state chemistry and physics would be a distinct advantage.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team essential.
