Access:

Before you arrive in Cambridge, you should have been set up with both your computer access and your e-mail account (CRSid). Your University card (mifare card) will also be activated for initial access to the Department.

  • If your card is not working as you expect/need it to, please contact MifareAdmin@ch.cam.ac.uk immediately.
  • In order to maintain continuous access you must register by 15th Oct.  If you cannot do so for any reason, please let Registrations know well in advance of this deadline or your card will be deactivated until registration is complete. You must ensure that you complete all Health and Safety training as well as the corresponding quiz, before you are able to complete your registration and gain access to your relevant lab.

Contact us:

If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact the Postgraduate Education Team. We will be available to meet in person on arrival or are contactable by email, phone or on MS Teams during office hours.

Arrival & Working in the Department:

First and foremost, is your safety. To ensure the safe working of everyone in the Department, a one-way system is in operation around the building, and face masks must be worn in all public areas and circulation spaces. Updated guidance can be found here.

Each research group will have its own guidelines and laboratory expectations, so please contact your supervisor in advance of your arrival to understand the group's current working practice. Before arriving in the Department make sure that someone from your research group is expecting you, and is in the Department to meet you.
