Chemical Crystallography

The Department's X-ray facilities and services are available for use by researchers within the University. Data collection and analysis services are also provided to external (industry) customers. To discuss access, please contact Dr Andrew Bond (adb29@cam.ac.uk).

Within the Department

The equipment in the Department's X-ray laboratory is available for use by researchers at the Department of Chemistry after completion of a suitable safety induction and instrument training program. Where instrument use is expected to be infrequent, it is often more efficient to make use of the available data collection services

Within the University

The equipment in the Department's X-ray laboratory is available for use by researchers at other Departments within the University. Researchers must first register to work within the Department, then complete a suitable safety induction and instrument training program. In most cases, it is more efficient to make use of the available data collection services.

External (Industry)

The following services are provided to external (industry) customers:

  • Single-crystal X-ray diffraction: data collection and structure determination
  • Powder X-ray diffraction: data collection and interpretation

All enquiries should be directed to Dr Andrew Bond (adb29@cam.ac.uk).
