Computer-related Safety - Ergonomic peripherals for loan

The Computer Officers have various peripherals (mice, keyboards, graphics tablets etc.) available for short-term loan, in the event that you are suffering from RSI-related problems when using your workstation. Some of these items are listed below.

If you are having trouble when using the mouse, some things to consider include:

  • Check the configuration of your mouse, and increase the sensitivity so it does not have to move as far
  • Swap hands, and use the mouse with the other hand (this can take some getting used to, initially!)
  • Alternate using a mouse and e.g. a graphics tablet, to use different muscles
  • Learn the keyboard shortcuts, if available
  • TAKE REGULAR BREAKS!
