Janet received an Honours B.Sc. from the University of Waterloo (Canada) in 1998 and completed her Ph.D. at the University of Toronto in the laboratory of Prof. G.A. Woolley, where she was involved with investigating reversible photo-control of peptide structure and activity. In 2003, she was awarded a NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship and joined the research group of Prof. C.M. Dobson in the Dept. of Chemistry, University of Cambridge. Currently she is a Senior Research Associate in the Dobson group and is pursuing her research interests which focus on studying the mechanism of protein misfolding, on a molecular level, and how biological molecules such as extracellular chaperones modify and influence this process. Along with being a member of PDAC, she is also the Biological Safety Officer for the Dept. of Chemistry.
