Amanda Maycock

Amanda Maycock completed her PhD in Atmospheric Science at the University of Reading in January 2012. Her research focused on understanding the impacts of changes in trace gases in the stratosphere on the Earth's climate. Prior to completing her PhD, Amanda attained an MPhys in Physics at the University of Manchester in 2006 and an MSc in Atmospheric Science at the University of Reading in 2008. She completed a short research project in the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics at the University of Oxford, before moving to Cambridge's Centre for Atmospheric Science in July 2012. She now holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship supported by the AXA Research Fund, and works jointly between the Departments of Chemistry and Applied Mathematics. Her research focuses on understanding the role of the stratosphere in the evolution of surface weather and climate, and makes use of comprehensive computer models of the climate system.
