The UK Chemistry Olympiad is challenging competition for post-16 students.
Open to all schools in the UK it is run by the Royal Society of Chemistry and supported by INEOS, the world's third largest proudcer of chemicals.
Round one is a written test of chemical knowledge with a prize available for the school and also an opportunity for the students to be selected for Round two.
The University of Cambridge Department of Chemistry hosts a Round two selection weekend where participants take part in both theoretical and practical testing. The four highest-perfoming students are usually selected to represent the UK in the International Chemistry Olympiad.
