The Department of Chemistry is seeking applications to support for Royal Society University Research Fellowships to be held in the department, starting in October 2017.

The Royal Society University Research Fellowship scheme provides the opportunity to young researchers to build an independent research career.  The department provides support throughout the application process for candidates whom it feels have the research skills required to qualify for one of these prestigious fellowships.

The scheme is open to outstanding scientists in the UK who are in the early stages of their research career and have the potential to become leaders in their field.  They are expected to be strong candidates for permanent posts in universities at the end of their fellowships.

If you wish to apply for a Royal Society URF to be held in the Department of Chemistry, you must submit an Expression of Interest to the Department by June 30th.  Please email a copy of your CV and a research proposal (maximum two pages) to Dr Howard Jones at hrnj1@cam.ac.uk.  The Department will confirm which applications it will support in mid-July. Further information about the scheme is available from the Royal Society
