Dr Peter Wothers wins RSC President’s Award

The Department is very pleased to be able to announce that Dr Peter Wothers has been awarded the RSC President’s Award for his outstanding contribution to public outreach in the chemical sciences.

The Royal Society Chemistry President’s Award has no restrictions and it is awarded to highlight those who have made a major contribution to advancing the chemical sciences, and normally no more than two are awarded during any Presidential term.  In this International Year of Chemistry, the Presendent of the RSC Professor David Phillips OBE FRSC CChem wanted to recognise Dr Peter Wothers efforts and successes over many years, promoting chemistry to a wide range of audiences and, in particular, for raising the profile of the subject with the public.
