The Department of Chemistry will host the Royal Society of Chemistry’s 10th Biological and Medicinal Chemistry Postgraduate Symposium on 16 December.

PhD and postdoctoral researchers working in biological or medicinal chemistry and related areas are invited to participate in the symposium, organised by the BMCS sector of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

The BMCS committee has received abstracts from graduates and postdocs, and will select those who will give oral presentations by 11 November.

Registration will start at 9 am with talks beginning at 10. The day will consist of 11 oral presentations (8 student and 3 keynote) plus a Flash Poster section. Each 20-minute student talk will be followed by 10 minutes for questions. Throughout the day there will be keynote talks from industrial and academic chemists. A buffet lunch will be provided to accompany the poster session. The BMCS judges will award prizes of £300 for the best oral presentation and of £150 for the best poster, which will be celebrated at the end of the day.  Travel expenses will be reimbursed to speakers.

This event is free but attendees should register no later than 9 December 2016.
