PhD Studentship: Marie Curie Early Stage Training Fellowship
Synthetic Receptors
A PhD studentship is available in the group of Dr Sijbren Otto from January 2007 for three years. The project will focus on the development of new synthetic receptors and the use of these in biological applications [Science 2002, 297, 590; J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2006, 128, 10253], and will combine organic synthesis, analytical chemistry and functional studies.
The studentship is funded through an EU Marie Curie Research Training Network called DCC, and the student will receive a salary as prescribed for Marie Curie Early Stage Training Fellowships. It is a condition of such fellowships that they may be held only by non-British nationals of EU countries and associated states.
Candidates should have, or be about to receive, an honours degree (at least II.1 or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline, and must have no more than four years of postgraduate research experience.
Applications should include a CV, a one-page statement of research interests and the names of two referees, and should be sent to: Dr Sijbren Otto (ref. DCC), Department of Chemistry, Lensfield Road, Cambridge, CB2 1EW, UK (email: so230@cam.ac.uk).
Further details of the DCC programme are available on http://www-dcc.ch.cam.ac.uk and informal enquiries may be made to Dr Otto (email: so230@cam.ac.uk).
Closing date for applications is November 15th 2006
