Silver Award Achieved
Congratulations to the "Chem Green Imps Team" for helping the department achieve a Green Impact Silver Award!
The team, led by Dr Richard Turner, has been working to achieve the Silver Award after gaining Bronze in 2014-15.
Interact with the animated 3-D scene, generously created by Dr Eric Sliwinski, where we celebrate completing all 36 tasks required to achieve the Silver Award.
The University's adopted Green Impact environmental accreditation scheme encourages departments and colleges to reduce their environmental impacts.
The scheme is great for those people who want to make a difference but are not sure how, and also supports those who are already beavering away for environmental and wellbeing causes in their corners of the University.
Teams sign up to an online workbook and progress through simple, clear and easy criteria towards recognised awards and targets. As part of this year's Silver Award submission, the Team organised a Green Impact Day in the department in April, with activities designed to encourage department members to think of creative ways to reduce their carbon footprint.
The team is committed to improve the environmental performance of the department.
The Chem Green Imps team is making a difference and you can be part of the change as well!
