400 MHz DRX-400 Dual/BB/HRMAS Spectrometer - 'Florence' - Room B13
The Bruker DRX-400 can be found in B13, where it is run by trained users from various research groups. We have three probes for this magnet which are installed according to demand, although the default dual probe is nearly always in place. This probe is a 5mm dual 1H/13C z-gradient, and this allows many 1 and 2D experiments to be run. The standard geometry of the probe makes it very useful for 13C/DEPT/APT combinations on reasonably concentrated samples of 15-20mg and formula weight 200-500. If your sample is taking too many scans before a reasonable result is acquired, then it might be worth considering using one of our cryoprobe instruments.
The BB probe is relatively old compared to the rest of our probes, and is very rarely used, with our BB-ATM Spectrometer 'Glengrant' proving more than adequate for multinuclear work.
The third probe is an HR-MAS dual 1H/13C probehead which utilises 4mm rotors. This probe is installed if there is a need to run bead or gel samples. For more information about the HR-MAS probe and the associated rotor components click here.
This instrument utilises an online booking system which can be accessed here.
